Economic Empowerment
Our strategy is child focused whole family approach. The child is the entry point to the whole household economic strengthening. We therefore provide for the children, prepare them as responsible youths as we link them to the best opportunities to transition into skilled decent adulthood job placements. This starts early by investing the highest possible quality in education and training, providing youth with skills that match the labour market demands, supporting access to social protection and basic services for the youth and their families, as well as leveling the playing field so that all aspiring youth can attain productive employment regardless of their gender, income level or socio-economic background. We strive to build dynamic, sustainable, innovative and people-centred economies, promoting youth employment and women’s economic empowerment, in particular, and decent work for all. We support families to end hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture.
AKIC - Kenya believes in empowering youths to be self-independent in changing their lives instead of depending on others for a living. We are committed in providing long term solutions to poverty through giving skills that can provide sustainable incomes. Business skills training and support; we provide vulnerable women with the skills to start and expand businesses in areas of their own interest such as livestock rearing, chicken farming, agriculture, small shops, handcrafts etc.
